Controller | Food Manufacturing | Onsite (Vernon, CA)

A well-established, privately held food manufacturing organization is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations for a growing, multi-entity business.

Location & Schedule

• Vernon, CA
• Fully onsite, Monday-Friday
• Hours: 7:00-4:00 or 8:00-5:00

Compensation

• Salary range: $140,000-$160,000

Role Overview
The Controller will oversee all accounting functions and serve as the senior financial leader on site, reporting directly to the Owner/President. This is a highly hands-on role requiring both leadership and operational involvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations for multiple entities
• Drive automation, documentation, and reporting improvements
• Evaluate existing processes before implementing change
• Maintain strong internal controls and accurate financial reporting
• Partner closely with ownership on financial insights and operations
• Support and mentor an established, long-tenured team

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Manufacturing experience required; food or meat processing experience strongly preferred
• Proven track record of process improvement and accounting automation
• Strong technical skills, including advanced MS Office proficiency
• Experience working with ERP systems (Syspro experience is a plus)
• Collaborative, thoughtful leadership style required
